On June 1, 1995 Juan was Drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 30th round of the 1995 amateur draft, but did not sign. June 4, 1996 he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 48th round of the 1996 amateur draft, but did not sign. June 2, 1998 Pierre was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 13th round of the 1998 amateur draft. Player signed June 4, 1998. November 16, 2002 he traded by the Colorado Rockies with Mike Hampton and cash to the Florida Marlins for Charles Johnson, Preston Wilson, Vic Darensbourg, and Pablo Ozuna. December 7, 2005 Juan Pierre was traded by the Florida Marlins to the Chicago Cubs for Sergio Mitre, Renyel Pinto (minors), and Ricky Nolasco (minors).
After a slow start with the Cubs, Juan has his aveage up and is back to stealing bases at a nice clip!
